Yaxham Village Hall
Yaxham Village Hall is a classic community hall built by the community in 1987 and run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers.
It's an ideal venue for all types of social events, weddings, birthday parties, dances. The floor of the main hall has just undergone renovation and now looks in sparkling new condition.
The hall has a fully equipped kitchen and a licensed bar run by friendly staff and is also licensed for performances and music. In addition to the main hall there is a meeting room that can accommodate 50 people and we are currently in the process of renovating a separate 150 year old building which we hope to have available for smaller events.
There is a large playing field available for those occasions where outside facilities are needed.
2017 marks the 40th birthday of the Yaxham Village Amenities Association
The Trustees have reluctantly had to take the decision to cancel the 40th Birthday celebration planned for Setember 10th, due to lack of volunteers prepared to help with the organisation of this event.
It is hoped to organise something to mark this occasion later in the year
Work starts on new sports changing facilities
Work has started in laying the foundations for sports changing facilities. The Trustees have succeeded in getting a grant from the Breckland Outdoor and Sports Fund to install much needed changing facilities. These facilities will be made available to all groups participating in physical activities and it is hoped that this will lead to greater use of the hall and the recreation ground for sports and fitness activity. Thanks are due to the Norfolk Community Foundation for their assistance in obtaining this grant and also those members of the community have come forward to give their services to make things happen.
We apologise for any disruption that may occur as works take place over the next few weeks.
It is hoped that the new facilities will be in place on August 16th, work will then commence on internal work and providing all the neccesary power, plumbing and waste required.
